Horse riding in Rovaniemi

This activity is equally for beginners and experienced riders : it was thought and made for the whole family.
While experienced riders can ride alone, beginners can be accompanied by a person who will hold their horse in tow.

During this excursion, we will take you 30 minutes from Rovaniemi, in a stable located in a beautiful setting on the banks of the Kemijoki River.
The walks take place in the forest, along the paths used by reindeer and many other animals. In addition to taking place in a setting with the typical landscapes of Lapland, horseback riding is so quiet that you may have the chance to cross and observe animals. If the sky is clear and the period is appropriate, you may be able to contemplate the Midnight Sun.

Animal rights : In this stable, everybody takes great care of the horses. They ride enough to stay healthy, but never too much. The stable’s staff make sure the horses are well treated: this is why they chose to make them live together in fields instead of individual stalls.

About the horses and the stable

The stable which we work with in Rovaniemi is a family stable, on a human scale, where the owners (and employees), work with passion. The horses are Irish Cob: they are hardy, and well adapted to the finnish winter temperatures. Moreover, they have a calm temperament, so they are perfect for hiking.

The speed of the excursion is always determined by the skills of the least experienced rider.

In summer, you can choose between a one-hour ride (for beginners and advanced riders) and a two-hour ride (only for advanced riders: comfortable riders at three paces).
