About the horses and the stable…
The stable with which we organize horse rides is a family-run, human-sized stable where the owners (as well as the employees) carry out their profession with passion. The horses, meanwhile, are mainly Irish Cobs. These are hardy horses that are very well adapted to the winter conditions of Lapland. In addition, the calm temperament of these horses make them perfect horses for hiking. For those interested and wishing more information about horses in Lapland and riding in the snow, we invite you to read this article.
Depending on your level and that of the people who will accompany you, here are the options that will be offered during our programs.
1. For confirmed riders
People who are used to riding on horseback can ride their horse without it being held in a leash. Regarding the pace, it will be adapted according to weather conditions and the condition of the ground (lots of fresh snow, slippery snow, ice…).
2. For beginner riders
Beginners can ride their horse which will be held in a rope by the guide throughout the hike. Regarding the pace, the ride will take place from beginning to end.
3. For others
For those who are interested in this ride but do not want to ride a horse, it is also possible to enjoy this superb experience, installed in a sled. In this case too, the ride will take place from start to finish.
